Frequently Asked Questions

How many guests can stay at the lodge?

The main lodge sleeps 8: a king bedroom, a queen bedroom with a single bed, and a double bedroom with a single bed.

For larger groups, the separate first-floor space adds two twin-over-full bunk beds and its own full bath, sleeping 6 more for $150 a night, for up to 14 guests in all. It is also a great fit for anyone who has trouble with stairs.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. If you would like an early check-in or late check-out, please ask before you arrive.

Can we bring our dog?

Up to 2 pets are welcome with the owners' approval. Please ask before booking. A $100 pet fee applies.

Can we swim in the creek?

Yes, at your own risk. Please supervise children at all times. No jumping or diving from the waterfall ledge, and please do not stand on the edge of the falls, since rocks can break away.

After heavy rain the water can move fast. Please stay away from the creek when it is running high.

Can we have a fire or grill out?

Yes. Fires are welcome in the fire pit by the creek. The stone fireplace indoors is decorative only, so no indoor fires.

We provide a Weber charcoal grill. Please use it on the grass on the first floor (ground level) only, never on or under the deck.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, and it is fast. The lodge has Starlink high-speed satellite internet, so you can stream, video call or work remotely even out here in the woods.

How do payment and the security deposit work?

50% of the total is due when you book, and the rest is due 14 days before arrival. Prepayments are non-refundable.

A $250 security hold is placed on your card 1 day before arrival and released 5 days after departure.

Is there a minimum age to book?

Yes. You must be at least 25 to rent the lodge. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the entire stay.

Can we smoke at the lodge?

No. The lodge is non-smoking, including the porch and the area under the deck.

Are there neighbors nearby?

Yes. The Refuge sits in a quiet country area with adjoining neighbors, and we want to respect their privacy.

Please stay on the roads marked with Refuge signage and in the areas set aside for the rental. Keep noise down during your stay, especially during quiet hours, 10 PM to 8 AM. Thank you for helping us be good neighbors.

Do you host weddings and events?

Yes. We host weddings for up to 80 guests, with spring 2027 packages starting at $3,000. Showers, birthday parties, church gatherings and other group events are welcome with prior approval. See weddings and events.

Can we see the property before booking?

The Refuge is private property and is not open to the public. Private showings are available with the owner by appointment and must be scheduled in advance. Call or text (601) 620-8226 to arrange a visit.

Where is the lodge, and how do we get there?
